Ozscot Bagpipes, situated in Perth, Western Australia, is owned and operated by James
and Samantha Cowie.
James is a professional piper who was employed full time as a band officer for 11 years and Pipe Major of the Grade 1, Western Australia Police Pipe Band (WAPOL) up until the 4th September 2006.
James’s record of achievement as Pipe Major of WAPOL includes Worlds Championships, United States Championships and 4 CD Recordings. He has a Advanced Certificate in Piping and is a Qualified Adjudicator.
James now competes in Grade 1 at the World Championships in Scotland with the Australia Highlanders Pipe Band (Melbourne), so when he says that he knows a little about pipe bands, bagpipes and piping in general you can be assured that he can demonstrate the highest level of expertise in that area.
Samantha is a professional Tenor drummer and was a guest player with WAPOL from 1997 to 2006. She has played both tenor and side drums since she was 7 years old and has completed the Advanced Certificate in Pipe Band Tenor & Bass Drumming and Intermediate Certificate in Pipe Band Snare Drumming. Sam’s achievements also include World Championships, United States Championships and CD Recordings. She also competes with the Australia Highlanders Pipe Band.
Sam is also an accomplished Highland and Irish dancer having attained honours in dancing throughout the years.

 Perth Metro Pipe Band has been formed by dedicated Advanced Pipers and Drummers to cater for players wishing to advance to the professional level in their chosen discipline. The extensive music programme and tuition technique has proven success that will require dedicated individuals to fulfil the bands objectives.
We encourage all levels of players to contact us with potential members completing a written application form and must be nominated by two members of Perth Metro. We have an infrastructure in place that will cater for all levels of players not only within P.M but also with alliances with other bands north and south of the river.
The tuition programme filtered through our support bands guarantees the individual entry into Perth Metro and exposure to the highest level.
Tuition is available on Monday Nights from 7pm, all are welcome.
